Noida: Three persons have been booked for allegedly abducting an 18-year-old woman on Tuesday morning from outside her college, which is in Sector 39 police station limits. The family, however, said police have so far failed to take any action.
Zaheer Khan, in charge of the Sector 39 police station, said the abduction took place around 7am when the woman was on her way to Rajkiya degree college with her brother, Rakesh.
One of the accused have been identified as their former tenant, Devender Sharma. Two others could not be identified. Later in the evening, her father, Raj Kumar, lodged a complaint at the Sector 39 police station.
The girl's uncle, Prem Singh, said she was to appear for an exam on Tuesday. Rakesh was heading back towards home after dropping her at the college. Suddenly he heard her scream and turned back.
"He saw three persons were trying to pull her inside a car. He ran towards the car but by then the criminals fled. While he tried to call the cops, two bikers pushed him to the ground," Singh said. Other family members filed a police complaint after Rakesh narrated the crime to them.
"We waited for them to lodge an FIR. Around 6pm, cops told us that the crime scene falls in Sector 39 police station. We then approached Sector 39 police station," he further said.
"The family has named their former tenant Devender Sharma and two unidentified persons in the complaint. He hails from Chithera village in Dadri while victim lives in Gejha village in Noida," Khan said that family told the cops that she was abducted in a car at 7 am when she was going to appear in exam. "The family informed the police almost 12 hours after the incident. A probe is on," Khan added.
